You drive by 5 times a week, mention it maybe once every month, trying to remember the last time you went. And it’s that one time you’re driving by and randomly get the urge and shout out..”Sizzzler”??? It’s familiar, it’s homey, it’s not too spicy or too bland. It brings back memories…and stories. Today it’s a salad bar lunch and cheese bread! (Remember the cheese bread)? Our first round included alittle spaghetti with meatballs, carnitas,
Melissa kicks some ass. Taking care of us, making sure our drinks never get low and looking cute as hell in the process.
Happy hour, is always a minor treat. (Well, more major than minor) BJ’s today. Wings, a pitcher of hef, and an LA Water ( I think we need an la water-Rama contest…no one gets it quite right .. And this la water has a strong 9). Ashley, who within 10 short minutes has become our favorite waitress of the week. She’s smiling, attentive, and quickly changed my man’s poking stool, with another. Live blogging this morning from a random stop for breakfast. And the first entry into our Pastrami-Rama. (It appears to be a dark horse, but who knows). Spires, on the corner of 223rd and Wilmington, has a small but seemingly regular crowd this morning. Our hostess Lucy sat us almost immediately, with just enough of a smile to make her seem friendly. The biggest, most beautiful smile on Balboa…grabbed us. And drew us in
So, Ciao on Balboa in Newport is our stop. We started with calamari. (Yes CALAMARI) and an amazing Malbec…Diseno). Rosario, our waitress/bartender/somaliiar recommended the Malbec. And glad she did. She’s been beyond friendly and beyond helpful. And we are rooting for her to win their contest!! We ordered New York Pizza with Pepperoni and spaghetti and meatballs. My old stand by
It’s a stunning California Wednesday. Stopped for a bite. Eat at Rudy’s, (in Old Town) sitting outside, browsing the specials, one catches my eye quick. The Chicken Enchilada omelette…mmm! And my partner in crime chose the Bacon Cheeseburger with a side of potato salad.
My meals at Hooters are filled with irony and anger Drinks – thumbs up Waitress – thumbs up Drinks – thumbs up Thanks. It’s been fun
