This Mexican restaurant has been teasing us for the past 6 months. We drive by its “old western-y” doors and say to each other…. “We have to try that place”.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t even know the name of it until we sat down and the menus were in front of us.

We stopped by Adam Liquor this morning, to grab some snacks for our impending trip to Target.
Our first trip to the store proved to be both pleasant and thirsty.
Their selection of microbrew beer was huge. If you’re looking to try something new …. This is the spot.
Liquor and wine were both plentiful and priced below what I expected.

This cute little spot in Weho. It’s pretty Pho-cken cute. For the Cybersocket Gay Pride party.
Drinks in hand…no food, but its smelling quite amazing as it passes the table.

Ventured out to Beverly Hills…thirsty. And what better place to stop for a drink and to watch the Heat lose. (Fingers crossed).

Wanted to watch the last period of the LA Kings Playoff game, and eat, drink, and blog.
We multitask.
Taco Tuesday!! $2 tacos (Asada, Pastor, y pollo).
We went with one of each, to test em all out.

Well, we had 21 minutes left on out meter, so we made it quality time,
At Sharks Cove, a few steps from our previous entry.

The lunch crowd seems to be as sparse as the bartender’s personality.
Don’t pretend you want to have a conversation…or at least be able to fake it.
I ordered a hoegarden (sp?)
Him an LA water… Which was made correctly (after some research on their part).
My beer was poured well.
And the orange wedge….like a sculpture on the edge of my glass.

Hennessey’s in Manhattan Beach
Would you really expect us to start a week any other way?
Hope you all had a fantastic long weekend.

10:30am :
Blue Moon and Vodka w/Fresh Lemonade in our hands. The sun shining on our faces, our speedy little thumbs working our phones, making us look either too important or too pretentious.

From the menu, where burgers are buy one get one free on Tuesdays, we opted for the Prime Rib Burger. And a Western burger.
Both of which were perfectly delicious, perfectly prepared, and beautifully served.
Megan, our waitress, did an adequate job making sure drinks were full and napkins were plentiful.

It’s nice to walk into a restaurant and be pleasantly surprised. As we parked at the Pancake House, I envisioned an older, kinda rundown spot.
What we walked into us nothing like that.
The inside, was packed with people, mouths full, talking, smiling, and enjoying themselves.
The aroma of so many meals, but nothing overpowering.

So, now I’ll cut to the chase.
Ordered Western Omeltte (ham, 3 cheeses, red and green peppers) and a side of Corned Beef Hash. The mister ordered Eggs Benedict, Shell Crepes, and potato pancakes.
One word – WOW!
Our order was on our table within 10-15 minutes, hot, and everything just the way we ordered.
The omelette, a big eggy cocoon of goodness. Sometimes, Omelettes could end up with just one flavor all at once. With this one you could taste every pepper, every cheese, in every bite.
The hash was a side order, but large enough to be a meal itself.
The pancakes were perfect.
Eggs Benedict, made as they should be. The center was perfectly cooked, the Hollandaise Sauce a flavor explosion.

Rocky, our waitress was friendly, and warm, and pleasantly sarcastic.

Oh Bruce.

I don’t usually use this blog for controversial topics, nor do I want to point fingers at the local establishments. But sometimes, like when it’s felt first hand, I have to put my word out there. Whether heard by 1 or 21 or 2001,

I’ve been asked to leave establishments before. Be it too drunk, too loud, too not listening to the much wiser bartender.
I get it, there are rules, and I broke those particular establishment’s.

While sitting in the bar, thinking and reminiscing, about the mother Id lost a few years back.

My fiancé sitting behind me, arms around me, feeling safe.

You know those places you walk into and may not be all thaaaat hungry. Until you see the food. Then you want everything on the menu.
Service is good. Friendly, smiling, servers. Customers appear content. Full and smiling.

Ordered the burger patty and eggs, my mister ordered the spicy fried chicken sandwich.
Prices are reasonable.
The food is tasty and filling.
Burger patty was cooked perfectly, the potatoes crisp and flavorful.
The fried chicken sandwich was given 2 thumbs up by my F n T partner, Jesse.
