Hamburger Mary’s , Long Beach

Sitting outside on a patio with a big drink, great company, and a nice breeze never gets old. When it’s with your people, there’s a lil something more. Hamburger Mary’s in Long Beach is just that place. Vampire Weekend on the jukebox…semi-friendly bartender/server ( he may just be busy) , the scent of Aqua di Gio (circa 1995) wafting our way…the day couldn’t be more perfect. La Water and Stoli Lemonade are our drinks of

Giuliano’s , Torrance

I’ll keep this short and to the point, since my mouth is in sandwich heaven and my hands want to reach for another bite. I’ll start with Viola! The sweetest, most friendly and helpful person I’ve ran into in a long time. There was a slight problem with our order and she handled it without batting an eye. Now about the food … OH MY GAWD!! The Torpedo was to die for. Soft bread, the

Rockwell Table and Stage, Los Angeles

Just sat down outside, gorgeous day, mimosas in hand. DJ spinning a nice outdoor brunchy mix. (Which included some Michael Jackson, Tribe Called Quest, kajagoogoo and even TEQUILA ) The patio is full, but not crowded, comfortable. And they are confident enough in their meals. No salt and pepper shakers on the tables.

Donenico’s , Monrovia

Let me start by saying….I LOVE this place. Consistently great service, nice atmosphere, decent prices, and the food is really does it!! Started off with a ShockTop Honey Apple beer. My first taste of it…. Woah!!! Smells like cider, and doesn’t seem as heavy as beer usually does. The waitress described it perfectly! Domenicos is one of those places I order extra, so I could take a lil bit home. (Just like Carmen’s in Azusa).

Rosa Mexicano – Sunset – live blogging

Published on 12/10/2012, by in 310, Mexican, Uncategorized.

So, we walked up San Vicente to Sunset. And stopped at Rosa Mexicano in Hollywood for Happy Hour. The restaurant is gorgeous and dark. The service was excellent. Pomegranate margaritas, some Cognac, and and chilaquiles. Later ordered the Churros en Bolsa. Amazing!! Perfectly crispy, yet soft, and three dipping sauces (Chocolate, Caramel and Raspberry). Several TV’s were on showing the Patriots game, I couldn’t ask for more. Happy hour 4-7 and 9:30 to close. They’re

Fiesta Cantina – West Hollywood –

Well, what better to do on a stunning So Cal day than sit on a patio drinking (my guilty pleasure). So today I’m at Fiesta Cantina with my partner in crime. A Watermelon margarita (with a mega boost) and Grande steak fries on the table in front of us. We doubled the 2:00 pm crowd when we arrived. Apparently unnoticed. Walked to the bar and ordered, but he was nice enough to bring the drinks

And so it begins.

It’s amazing when starting a project like this. You start off wanting to be open minded. Your concept of good service, good food and good vibe semi-engrained into your head. You know what spots you’ve been to. Why you’ll revisit some spots again and again and some you won’t go back. I walked into places with an open mind. A blank slate. I allowed myself to be charmed, revolted or A lot of it seems
