This Mexican restaurant has been teasing us for the past 6 months. We drive by its “old western-y” doors and say to each other…. “We have to try that place”. I’ll be honest, I didn’t even know the name of it until we sat down and the menus were in front of us.
Frida, Beverly Hills
Ventured out to Beverly Hills…thirsty. And what better place to stop for a drink and to watch the Heat lose. (Fingers crossed). I’ll start off by saying how amazing it is to have an attentive server/ bartender
Ocho Taqueria Torrance
Wanted to watch the last period of the LA Kings Playoff game, and eat, drink, and blog. We multitask. Taco Tuesday!! $2 tacos (Asada, Pastor, y pollo). We went with one of each, to test em all out.
Pancho’s Manhattan Beach
Oh Bruce. I don’t usually use this blog for controversial topics, nor do I want to point fingers at the local establishments. But sometimes, like when it’s felt first hand, I have to put my word out there. Whether heard by 1 or 21 or 2001, I’ve been asked to leave establishments before. Be it too drunk, too loud, too not listening to the much wiser bartender. I get it, there are rules, and I
El Torito, Redondo Beach for brunch
Well, Sunday brunch is always fun. Especially a brunch with bottomless mimosas. I’ll start with the location….Redondo Beach Pier. We asked for a window booth and they sat us with a smile.
Cabo Cantina, West Hollywod
Out here at Cabo Cantina in Weho, drinking some mimosas (bottomless til 3:00!!!) Crowd is light, but all seen to be having a good time. Five Tvs outside (which is where we are on this stunning day)! Menu looks like Fiesta Cantina…a lot. They must be related or ummm? 2:04 – Steak Nachos and our second mimosa just arrived. Mine is almost gone already. Shhh, I’m thirsty! Lakers are down But Daniella is keeping us
Chile Red, Rancho Cucamonga
So running errands and have a few minutes to grab lunch (and a beer). I’ll just start by saying the Albondigas Is amazing! And the tacos…wow. You get the option of hard, soft, or medium shell. And of course, I go medium! Chicken and beef. I’ve been here before and ordered To-go…decided to sit and check it out today. (Actually hoped I would find the NFL playoff game. Go Patriots! And Broncos) No Tvs. But
Villa Sombrero – Los Angeles.
Enjoyed a quick little lunch at Villa Sombrero. The place was quiet, for a Friday lunch. The service was quick and friendly. I enjoyed one large and one small margarita and some food. (Taco, enchilada plate). Margaritas were amazing and strong!!! The food was just out of the oven, cheese perfectly melted and gooey. The rice and beans were decent, the enchilada and taco were beyond amazing.
Rosa Mexicano – Sunset – live blogging
So, we walked up San Vicente to Sunset. And stopped at Rosa Mexicano in Hollywood for Happy Hour. The restaurant is gorgeous and dark. The service was excellent. Pomegranate margaritas, some Cognac, and and chilaquiles. Later ordered the Churros en Bolsa. Amazing!! Perfectly crispy, yet soft, and three dipping sauces (Chocolate, Caramel and Raspberry). Several TV’s were on showing the Patriots game, I couldn’t ask for more. Happy hour 4-7 and 9:30 to close. They’re
Fiesta Cantina – West Hollywood –
Well, what better to do on a stunning So Cal day than sit on a patio drinking (my guilty pleasure). So today I’m at Fiesta Cantina with my partner in crime. A Watermelon margarita (with a mega boost) and Grande steak fries on the table in front of us. We doubled the 2:00 pm crowd when we arrived. Apparently unnoticed. Walked to the bar and ordered, but he was nice enough to bring the drinks
