Thing I Like, This Week

Published on 05/20/2013, by in Happy Hour, I like.

This week, has been an interesting one. So, I’ve decided to try something a little different. I’ve met and spoken to a lot of people, I’ve talked to friends who

The Original Pancake House, Torrance

It’s nice to walk into a restaurant and be pleasantly surprised. As we parked at the Pancake House, I envisioned an older, kinda rundown spot. What we walked into us nothing like that. The inside, was packed with people, mouths full, talking, smiling, and enjoying themselves. The aroma of so many meals, but nothing overpowering. So, now I’ll cut to the chase. Ordered Western Omeltte (ham, 3 cheeses, red and green peppers) and a side

Pancho’s Manhattan Beach

Oh Bruce. I don’t usually use this blog for controversial topics, nor do I want to point fingers at the local establishments. But sometimes, like when it’s felt first hand, I have to put my word out there. Whether heard by 1 or 21 or 2001, I’ve been asked to leave establishments before. Be it too drunk, too loud, too not listening to the much wiser bartender. I get it, there are rules, and I

Happy Diner , San Pedro

You know those places you walk into and may not be all thaaaat hungry. Until you see the food. Then you want everything on the menu. Service is good. Friendly, smiling, servers. Customers appear content. Full and smiling. Ordered the burger patty and eggs, my mister ordered the spicy fried chicken sandwich. Prices are reasonable. The food is tasty and filling. Burger patty was cooked perfectly, the potatoes crisp and flavorful. The fried chicken sandwich

Stuffing ourselves at Sizzler in Torrance

You drive by 5 times a week, mention it maybe once every month, trying to remember the last time you went. And it’s that one time you’re driving by and randomly get the urge and shout out..”Sizzzler”??? It’s familiar, it’s homey, it’s not too spicy or too bland. It brings back memories…and stories. Today it’s a salad bar lunch and cheese bread! (Remember the cheese bread)? Our first round included alittle spaghetti with meatballs, carnitas,

Hamburger Mary’s

Melissa kicks some ass. Taking care of us, making sure our drinks never get low and looking cute as hell in the process.

BJ’s, Culver City

Happy hour, is always a minor treat. (Well, more major than minor) BJ’s today. Wings, a pitcher of hef, and an LA Water ( I think we need an la water-Rama contest…no one gets it quite right .. And this la water has a strong 9). Ashley, who within 10 short minutes has become our favorite waitress of the week. She’s smiling, attentive, and quickly changed my man’s poking stool, with another. Thanks Ashley! So

Spires Coffee Shop , Wilmington, CA

Live blogging this morning from a random stop for breakfast. And the first entry into our Pastrami-Rama. (It appears to be a dark horse, but who knows). Spires, on the corner of 223rd and Wilmington, has a small but seemingly regular crowd this morning. Our hostess Lucy sat us almost immediately, with just enough of a smile to make her seem friendly. I ordered the Pastrami Melt (pastrami-rama entry #1). My partner and the keeper

Full and Tipsy Pastrami-Rama (our First Annual)

Announcing: Full and Tipsy Pastrami-Rama 2013!! We here at Full and Tipsy are big ( VERY BIG) fans of a good pastrami. Sooooo, why not try to find the best one out there. Oh, we’ve had a few and already have some favorites of our own. And we know there has to be one or two out there that’ll move us to tears and feel poetic. Send us any suggestions you have!

El Torito, Redondo Beach for brunch

Well, Sunday brunch is always fun. Especially a brunch with bottomless mimosas. I’ll start with the location….Redondo Beach Pier. We asked for a window booth and they sat us with a smile.
